Place Logic, Urbacity and Design Urban (The Design Team) were engaged at the beginning of 2021 by the Ginninderry Joint Venture (Riverview Group & Suburban Land Agency) to review Ginninderry's previous Master Plan and develop an alternative structure to respond to the project's evolving needs and aspirations.

The previous Master Plan was completed in 2014 and required review to ensure best practice Urban Design & sustainability principles were being employed for the 6-star Greenstar Communities project.
‍‍
Ginninderry's vision is to be a sustainable community of international significance in the Capital Region. The Master Plan Refresh work undertaken by the Design Team will support Ginninderry's endeavour to raise the bar for best practices in sustainability, design, construction and innovation. Ginninderry will be developed over the next 30 years, and will one day be home to approximately 30,000 people.

The Master Plan refresh and the structure developed was strengthened through a series of collaborative and comprehensive workshop series involving immediate stakeholders and industry experts to challenge industry preconceptions and strive for a future proof, human-centric and commercially viable design.

The refreshed Master Plan centres around an 80-hectare central park space that will be located on a reclaimed landfill site. This site will form a centrepiece for the community that provides recreation, movement, environmental and educational opportunities.

Various elements of the Master Plan Refresh work, including key design moves, ground-truthing, detailed site analysis, urban design principles and key design considerations all establish a framework that will provide Ginninderry with design guidance to ultimately achieve their project vision.
