Master planning a multi-precinct residential estate for an exceptional, yet challenging site in the Snowy Mountains Region — one of Australia's premier destinations.
Place Logic was engaged by Australian Land Co. in 2021 to develop a Master Plan for a prominent 37-hectare site in West Jindabyne and part of the Special Activation Precinct for the Snowy Mountains Region.
The steep site with over 75m elevation poses many challenges and opportunities for bespoke site responsive urban design, engineering and landscape design.
Our urban design and landscape architecture team are working with a collaborative team of experts in their field to deliver an exceptional new urban precinct that is uniquely appropriate to Jindabyne in terms of its response to the site and connection to its surrounds — perfectly attuned to summer and winter lifestyles.
As part of the greater project effort, Place Logic is developing Mountainside Design Guidelines for each precinct and stage of residential release. These Guidelines ensure that the built environment is developed cohesively and integrates well with the landscape, views and solar access.

Along with Design Guidelines, Place Logic have also conducted multi-unit typology studies to provide recommendations on how to achieve optimal multi-dwelling development outcomes for the site in response to the challenges posed by the steep slope.
