The Landscape Master Plan for Poplars will guide the implementation of a cohesive and unified landscape treatment across the wider Poplars development.
Detailed analysis of the site through site capability investigations for land use and built form identified key sightlines and existing natural assets that can be celebrated through specific landscape treatments. The Master Plan takes into consideration various site opportunities and constraints, the proximity of the site to neighbouring Jerrabomberra, current planning controls, current and future transport, learning precinct and logistics connectivity, sustainability, future technology and components of heritage and ecology including large Grassland areas that have Conservation status.
From an environmental perspective the Grasslands are a vital asset, they are the habitat for many native animal species but they also provide considerable visual amenity along the ACT/NSW border. Poplars has identified the significance of the Grasslands and other existing natural assets and has embraced them as key to the overall Poplars development.
